I'm not really a hardcore fan of Wu-Tang, it was more the idea of going that appealed to me since I know them since I was a little kid and of course they are famous (and cool). Lest I forget that despite being 31, most guys on stage were actually considerably older than I am.
Anyway, the first best thing about the concert were our seats - we had perfect balcony seats (others who were sitting there before weren't impressed). It was fun to see some Irish hip-hop crew beforehand, they seemed a bit knackerish but they were pretty entertaining.
Build-up to the main event was really cool - DJ came out and warmed up the tables and then the crew came out. I'll say it now: if it weren't for Method Man it would have been a three stars, but this guy is worth one or two stars alone. The way he moves over the stage, engages with the crowd, and his awesome voice just tie it altogether.
And just when you thought they couldn't be any cooler, they absolutely insisted on sharing their smokes and drinks with the crowd. Crowd was really pretty wild, have never seen the Tripod so wild and messy after a gig. Also, and I don't want to sound like a scared kid, but some of the folks in the crowd were in pretty agressive or intimidating state. But who cares when you are sitting in the balcony.
Anyway, highly recommended, but make sure Method Man is around when you see them. And there was no encore. Also - while the Wu-Tang Clan (who said they love Ireland because it's green - like their other favourite thing [not money]) was fine smoking certain ingredients on stage, several people were kicked out of the smoking area (and the venue) for the same. So beware, if you are into that!
